• Last Day of School Reminder

The state has approved the two waiver days requested by the Kent School District. The last day of school for grades K-6 will now be Wednesday, June 20th. As the past, this day will be a three hour early release day at 12:08p.m.

• Kindergarten Registration

Your student must be 5 years before August 31, 2012 in order to register for Kindergarten. Kent Elementary hours for registration are between 8:30a.m.-3:30p.m. The last day to register is Friday, June 22, 2012. Please bring with you the following items:

1. Your Child's State Issued Birth Certificate (Not Hospital Issued)
2. Parent Photo ID
3. Immunization Records
4. Proof of Residence (please bring one of the following items dated within the last month with your name and address on it)

  The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education created the Washington Achievement Award to celebrate the State of Washington’s top-performing schools and to recognize achievement in multiple categories. This highly selective award is based on our school’s performance according to the Washington Achievement Index, a comprehensive measurement of how schools in Washington are performing over time. The Washington Achievement Award is given to elementary, middle, high and comprehensive schools in seven different categories: overall excellence, language arts, math, science, extended graduation rate (high and comprehensive schools only), improvement and closing achievement gaps. Kent Elementary is being recognized for:

  This is the second year in a row that we have received this award. We will be recognized by the State during a ceremony on April 25th, when we will receive a trophy and another green banner to hang in our officeJ.
