Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) Preschool

ECEAP is a head-start daycare located at Kent Kangley and 132nd in Kent. Students participate as a childcare assistant working alongside a certified teacher with children ages 3-4. There is no dress code at the Preschool. Students generally use Metro to travel to and from work, in some cases a District shuttle bus is used. Prior to beginning an internship, students will need a Washington State background check, tuberculosis (TB) test and a completed volunteer application.

Kent-Meridian High School (KSD) Kitchen

The KMHS kitchen is a District internship site. Students assist the cooks by stocking the food carts, cleaning food containers, cleaning lunch sacks, filling condiment, and napkin dispensers. TOP students are asked to dress semi-casual, wearing khakis and collared shirts or sweaters. 

Kona Kai Coffee

Located across the street from Kent City Hall, students learn to make coffee drinks, prepare food, clean, and learn to run the register at Kona Kai Coffee. The dress code at this location includes jeans and a black shirt. An apron is provided. Students travel to the work site by Metro. Prior to beginning an internship, students must obtain a Food Workers Card.

Little Caesars Pizza

Located on 240th in Kent, students learn to make pepperoni pizzas, fill sauce cups, and clean the kitchen. The dress code at Little Caesars Pizza includes khaki pants and white sneakers. A shirt and Lunch are provided. Students travel to and from Little Caesars Pizza using Metro. Prior to beginning an internship, students must obtain a Food Workers Card.

Skills, Inc.

With two locations in Auburn, Skills, Inc. fabricates parts for Boeing planes. Students generally work at Skills, Inc. for the entire year and get to try a variety of positions in manufacturing. The dress code at this work site prohibits open-toe shoes. Skills, Inc. provides non-slip shoes and protective eyewear. Morning students travel to the site by District shuttle bus, afternoon students travel by Metro. Prior to beginning an internship, students need to tour Skills, Inc., complete an application, interview and selection process.
