Monitor communications, Wednesday, Feb. 5, KSD logo

We are continuing to monitor the weather and will be checking the roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and walking routes early tomorrow morning. We will notify families and staff tomorrow as soon as a decision is made to open or close schools.

Wednesday morning, February 5, monitor your phone/email, school/district websites, social media, and local news for updates to school schedules or bus routes.

Because of the Wednesday early release schedule, we are unable to implement a two-hour late start, as it would conflict with our transportation system and the need to run buses on multiple routes for both elementary and secondary schools.

For February 5, 2025, there are two options.

OPTION 1

Schools and the administration campus are open and operating on normal Early Release Wednesday schedules.

OPTION 2

Schools and the administration campus are closed.

Today, our facilities and maintenance teams worked hard to clear parking lots and sidewalks. With freezing temperatures and the possibility of precipitation tonight and tomorrow morning, surfaces are likely to freeze again, potentially creating hazardous conditions. The temperature is predicted to be freezing during school arrival times.

We understand changes to our school schedule greatly impact families and staff — and we have made a concerted effort to inform you of delays and closures with as much advance notice as possible.

Please monitor your phone/email, school/district websites, social media, and local news for any updates to school schedules or bus routes tomorrow morning. February 5.
